Quality seal for innovative product design
Tübingen, March 2012 – Major success for Zeutschel at one of the world’s most renowned design competitions: The scanning and copying system zeta is amongst the winners of the red dot award: product design 2012. Both the company from Tübingen and the Swiss agency ‘Process Design’ responsible for the product design are delighted to have won the award. The field of participants was of an extremely high calibre, yet Zeutschel zeta prevailed against the stiff competition. A total of 1,800 manufacturers and designers from 58 countries took part with some 4,515 designs in the competition. zeta impressed and thrilled the 30-member jury of international experts with its high design quality and received the coveted ‘red dot’ in the ‘Computer and Information Technology’ category.
“It was our declared goal to develop a device with zeta that combines the highest demands regarding functionality and design into a single unit. ‘Scanners and scans have never been better”, that is our claim and this has been so impressively confirmed with the ‘red dot’ award, explains Jörg Vogler, Managing Director of the Zeutschel GmbH.
And Lukas Vonarburg, Product Designer from Process Design adds: “Compact, simple and beautiful: The Zeutschel zeta sets new design standards in the market of book scanners and book copiers. There has never been anything like this: Easy-to-use and innovative technology, packaged into a compact, aesthetic form. We are very proud that all our efforts and endeavours have paid off”.
Zeutschel zeta
With zeta, Zeutschel shows how simple and easy it is to scan and copy pages from books and magazines or document from files and loose-leaf binders. The unit is easy and intuitive to operate using the touch screen. The software immediately corrects typical copy mistakes: Crooked pages are put straight, distorted letters in the book folds straightened and distracting elements such as punched holes or the mechanics of a document file are removed from the scans. Once the digital copy has been created, the user can store this onto a USB stick, send it by e-mail, upload it onto an FTP server or print out a hard copy using a connected printer. The Zeutschel book scanner and book copier is a jewel of artistic design, a device that people will enjoy working with. There are two designs available: An aluminium or white gloss finish..
