Zeutschel at the DMS Expo – Hall 5 / A33
Stuttgart, 23-25/10/2012 – For World Paper Free Day, Zeutschel presents an innovative solution for copying books, files of documents, magazines and other bound documents. With zeta, the documents are placed facing upwards and are scanned from above. The software corrects typical copier errors like lopsided pages or distorted letters in the fold of thick books. Together with the preview function, this is how poor copies are avoided. Instead of printing, the digital copy can be put on a USB stick right away, or can be further processed using the internet or intranet. All of this saves time and reduces paper consumption. ”There’s no need for a waste paper basket beside a zeta machine.” says Zeutschel CEO Jörg Vogler.
The ‘classic’ copying method subjects books to a lot of wear and tear. At the same time, making multiple copies of files of documents or magazines is tedious and time-consuming. And often the quality and legibility of the copies suffer. The result is an array of poor copies and, as a consequence, increasing paper consumption, which, according to estimates, amounts to approx. 21 per cent per year.
Annual consumption of copy paper is 800,000 tonnes. To transport this amount, you would need a freight train with 40,000 carriages, it would be 600 kilometres long (Sources: German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety) and Department for Computer Science at Oldenburg University).
Copiers for the sustainable and modern office
With zeta, Zeutschel is showing that there is an alternative to this both economically and environmentally senseless approach.
The multi-functional machine reads books and documents from above while they are facing upwards. This is not only gentler than traditional copiers, it is also more efficient, because after every scan you can immediately turn the page.
A touch screen that is fitted to the right side of the machine makes copying easier and shows a preview of the scan.
The zeta scanner has software that automatically aligns any lopsided pages correctly, straightens out any curves in books and removes any staples, folder clips and even any images of fingers from scan data.
And with a scan surface of A3+ zeta also works on bigger documents, but it requires significantly less floor space than the classic A3 copier.
If a digital copy is created, the user has various digital processing options: save it on a USB stick, save it on a company network or send it via email.
In addition, zeta is a real eye-catcher, a machine you’ll enjoy using. There are two available designs: with an aluminium or white gloss finish.
Excellent Quality Made in Germany
Like all other Zeutschel products, zeta is made in Germany. Both development and production, including quality control, take place at the company headquarters in Tübingen-Hirschau.
Zeutschel’s multi-functional machine conforms with current Energy Star guidelines for energy-saving office equipment. Two awards – the red dot award for special design quality and the IT ‘Best of 2012′ quality seal from the SME Initiative – attest to the top innovative character of the scan and copy system.
