Zeutschel at the CeBIT 2013 – Hall 3 / H15
Hanover, 05 – 09 March 2013 – Zeutschel is débuting the advantages of the overhead scanner to the entire office environment under the motto of ‘zeta goes office’. Using the zeta scanning system, files, books or magazines are simply opened and scanned from above. The integrated Perfect Book software delivers perfect copy results from the very first scan. Distortions in book folds are eliminated and distracting elements such as the lever arch mechanism are automatically removed. Instead of printing, the electronic copy can be saved in different formats on a USB-stick, sent by e-mail, put into Dropbox or stored on a network drive. The device is operated intuitively using the attached touchscreen, which also allows a preview of each scan. Environmentally-speaking, the device characteristics of the overhead scanner meet key features for output systems and is available immediately.
“With its capabilities, zeta is an important component in Managed Print Services concepts. It significantly lowers printing costs and increases office efficiency”, says Horst Schmeissing, Sales Manager of Zeutschel GmbH.
Zeutschel overhead scanners can be used wherever there is a need for simple and productive copies of bound documents. This includes banks and insurance companies, governmental agencies, industrial companies as well as law firms, architectural practices or marketing agencies.
New Impetus for MPS
Down with printing costs: Still a pipe-dream for many German companies today. According to an Ipsos study, around 40 pages are printed per day and per employee, making Germany European front-runner in terms of printing volume. And the number of unnecessary printed pages continues to rise – every tenth page ends up in the bin straight away. Looking at these figures, it is hardly surprising that a company’s entire output costs make up to 3 per cent of its total annual turnover. The analysts by IDC estimate potential cost savings of 15 to 30 per cent. Managed Print Services, MPS for short, are a key step towards a process whereby companies are better able to control and optimise their output.
“The zeta scanning system is in a position to give new impetus to MPS concepts”, Horst Schmeissing is confident and explains:“Faulty copies and illegible scans are a thing of the past thanks to the overhead scanner”.
The touchscreen helps to control scanning results and combined with the use of the Perfect Book software leads to perfect image results. The left- and right-hand sides of ring folders are recognised, removed and the lever arch mechanism in the middle is airbrushed out. In the case of stapled documents laid across the scanner, the software automatically rotates the image into portrait style and not only removes the staples from the scan result but also the finger holding the document as well.
A major cost factor in the copier industry are consumables. Zeutschel overhead scanners don’t require any paper, ink or toner, copies can be immediately processed further via internet and intranet.
Many users often only know a tiny fraction of an output device’s capabilities. This results in many of the cost-saving features, such as scanning and sending of documents via e-mail, not being used. Something where the zeta touchscreen concept has clear user advantages. The user is able to attain the desired result in just a few, logically-structured steps.
More Productivity and More Eco-Friendly
Original documents are placed on their back and the Zeutschel overhead scanner scans them from above. The document is treated more gently and it also increases work efficiency. Documents from files, ring folders, loose-leaf binders are therefore copied significantly faster using zeta. This is because the user can turn the page immediately after each copy, there is no need to reinsert the copied page and remove new documents.
Copying books and magazines is also considerably more productive. In this instance, the user saves the entire step of removing the document from the machine in order to turn the page and of then repositioning the book or magazine on the scanning surface again.
In terms of its environmental performance, zeta meets all key user requirements. The overhead scanner works quietly and – since ink and toner are not used – has low emissions. It also conforms with current Energy Star guidelines for energy-saving office equipment. Two awards – the red dot award for special design quality and the IT ‘Best of 2012′ quality seal from the SME Initiative – attest to the top innovative character of the Zeutschel overhead scanner.
